@remote_with_connie: Sometimes, the reason a woman stays in an abusive relationship isn’t because she wants the abuse. She’s afraid. “Where will I live?” “How will I pay my rent?” “How will I feed my children?” “What will people say?” “Who will help me?” And because she’s afraid of the unknown, she keeps enduring what is destroying her. Let me be honest with you: starting over may not be easy. The beginning may be uncomfortable. You may need help. You may even have to lean on people for a while. And that’s okay. You may have to be a “burden” for a season while you rebuild your life. But temporary discomfort is not a reason to remain somewhere that is destroying you. And if someone is deliberately isolating you from your family and support system, please pay attention to that. Sometimes the very people who could help you are slowly being pushed away from you. You deserve to have support. You deserve peace. You deserve to find yourself again. Don’t stay so long that you lose yourself completely. You may not know what is waiting for you on the other side of fear until you find the courage to take that first step. ❤️ If this message is for you, please know that you are not alone. #DomesticAbuseAwareness #AbuseAwareness #HealingJourney #KnowYourWorth
