@meghannmcuniff: A woman arrested for photographing jurors in Lindsay Clancy's trial is a retired nurse who "is now on a fixed income and unable to post this bail," her lawyer said today. Dawn Light, 56, left custody after pleading not guilty to one count of aggravated intimidation of a juror in Plymouth District Court in Massachusetts this morning (Wednesday, September 3). Light spent the night in jail after police found her in a blue Toyota in an employee parking lot at the courthouse where Clancy is on trial for three counts of murder for strangling her children Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months, in their home in Duxbury on Jan. 24, 2023. Jurors are in their fifth day of deliberation. Judge William Sullivan warned people in the courtroom today that court orders and laws govern contact with trial participants, but he did not mention Light's arrest, and jurors were not in the courtroom for his comments. Light's lawyer told the judge at her arraignment today that Light "was seeking a picture of Ms. Clancy and had no intention of any interaction with the jurors." "Ms. Light is a retired registered nurse who's worked as a registered nurse for over 25 years. She is now on a fixed income and unable to post this bail. She's resided in Sutton, Massachusetts, for over 30 years, and she raised her children there. She is not a flight risk. Obviously, has very strong ties to our community, and in addition, Your Honor, as Your Honor just inquired, my client has no record. She's 56 years old and has been upstanding citizen," said attorney Jennifer White. Light "understands the magnitude and the seriousness of this charge," White said. "She has the utmost respect for our judicial system," White said. The judge delcined the prosecutor's request for $50,000 but ordered Light "to stay away from the courthouse grounds" outside of hearings in her own case. "She is ordered to stay away and have no contact with any jurors or witnesses in the Lindsay Clancy trial. She is to refrain from disseminating photos from her iCloud of any photographs taken in related to the incident," the judge said. Jurors in Clancy's trial recessed for lunch at 1 p.m. Eastern time and were to reconvene at 2 p.m. #law #crime #court
