depending on quality, lower quality fur can shed a lot easier, and over time you’ll lose more and more fur fibers, so eventually it’ll be thinner or potentially show bald patches!

Overbrushing will cause bald spots yes. To lessen it, hold the brush upside down while brushing. It takes tangles out, doesnt yank as hard and pulls less fibers out

do try to use a comb from time to time and not always a cat brush as those are meant to grip every hair strand and pull them to grip the weakest and get rid of the surplus

use the pet brushes backwards for fursuits!!! pet brushes are made to take out shedding hair that can be damaging to fur if used incorrectly heh, u can hold the brush like upside down and it works the same and less damaging
