@meghannmcuniff: A 56-year-old Massachusetts woman has been charged with a crime after people reported her photographing jurors in Lindsay Clancy's murder trial outside the courthouse on Tuesday. Dawn Light was arrested on Tuesday and spent the night in jail. She was released after she pleaded not guilty to one count of aggravated intimidation of a juror in an arraignment this morning (Wednesday, September 2) in Plymouth District Court. Police say they saw her in a blue Toyota in the courthouse employee parking lot where jurors have been parking their cars. A prosecutor said they found photos of jurors leaving the courthouse in the deleted items folder on her phone. "The sanctity of the judicial system is at risk because of her actions. It's an extremely serious matter for the Commonwealth and the integrity of the proceedings," a prosecutor said in court today. A judge declined the prosecutor's request for $50,000 bail but ordered Light to stay away from the courthouse outside of hearings for her case. "She is ordered to stay away and have no contact with any jurors or witnesses in the Lindsey Clancy trial. She is to refrain from disseminating photos from her iCloud of any photographs taken in related to the incident," the judge said. Light's attorney Jennifer White said she's a retired nurse with no criminal record and only wanted to photograph Clancy. "This is a complete misunderstanding. My client was seeking a picture of Ms. Clancy and had no intention of any interaction with the jurors," White said. Massachusetts State Police issued a press release about Light's arrest: "At approximately 3:40pm on September 1st, a person was taken into custody by the Massachusetts State Police outside of the Plymouth District Courthouse. DAWN LIGHT, 56, of Sutton, was placed under arrest and is expected to be arraigned today on one charge of Intimidation of a witness, jurors, or person furnishing information in connection with criminal proceedings MGL Chapter 268, Section 13B." The nine women and three men on the jury had deliberated about 23 hours when they resumed this morning about 9:30 a.m. They said on Tuesday they were deadlocked, but Judge William Sullivan told them to continue deliberating. #law #crime #court

I hope they don’t go light on her. They need to let these true crime people know that the court needs to be taken serious and so does the safety of the jurors. No matter which verdict they get even if it’s a hung jury they will be attacked and harassed

People need to stop acting like they're internet sluthes as if this is a fun game to get content. This is a serious violation against jurors who could be put in danger regardless of the verdict.
