I agree that it’s about money but these people in ICE are racists to their core. They’re also brutal, sadistic and evil. They went into the job because they wanted to hurt, brutalize, rape, torture and even kill people with impunity. I can’t believe that these are simply people who are poor. These are the worst people in our country who are in ICE and I for one believe in karma. What they haven’t thought about is once this administration is gone, they will ALL be held accountable for their crimes. Karma is coming.

Money is part of the story. If you read Hannah Arendts account of the 30's another cause was alienation young men felt after WW1. They were also searching for belonging. Social media, covid and economic stress has "atomized" our society. People still seek a sense of purpose. Unfortunately a strong man is willing to use that
