So, what i'm understanding here is; the eggs are the memory kris feels guilty about repressing and not being able to full remember/accept but would solve the case of "that horrible day" if they could and this is why collecting the eggs is seen as an issue in the files, because if kris remembers their past fully and can't be manipulated, the prophecy will not be played out and that's not what gaster wants. Also the "kris couldn't learn anything" paired with the knight itself being water(metaphor for change) but the pieces left of their armor being more like "glass"(metaphor for fate) would mean that tge knight is asriel and that event changed both of them forever but it also ironically enough made them the main characters of an unchanging predetermined prophecy in their quest to rewrite their fate, or as gerson said "interpret it their own way". But the problem with this partnership is the eggs, kris agreed to whatever asriel wanted to do in order to play out the prophecy their own way so they could go back to how things used to be, but just because Kris couldn't peoperly remember the memory of that day that would have made this ten times easier for everyone to have closure to at least just–KNOW what happpened to december, but kris can't remember what happened and kinda doesn't want to for a few reasons. First reason being that they don't want everyone to be horrified for a while just for them to slowly accept that Dess is gone now that they know what happened and don't have to lay awake at night wondering what happened that day. Second reason being how horrifying that memory is to kris, they can never fully wash it all away but theyr'e repressing it so hard and that's the closest they can get to it. That's why there's two reasons why collecting the eggs is an issue to gaster(the one that created deltarune) because one)the forgotten man is kris's old therapist and the gaster who actually lived in deltarune's world, so they could possibly remember the memories tied to said day that they're repressing and the prophecy(undertale gaster's experiment) can't be played out and therefore his 'experiment' can't be played out. Am i right lads or am i right lads?

The Knight being a reflection of Kris’ memories sounds cool, but it had a physical form in the light world, Susie just couldn’t see who it was. I always thought the Knight was Asriel or Des, though. The Knights identity feels way too important to be someone we’ve met before imo (such as Rudy or Alphys)
