A Statement for the Future of Education I want to start by saying something clearly. Schools are not failing. Teachers are not failing. Parents are not failing. Children are not failing. The truth is much simpler, and much harder to admit. I'm going to say it. The system is ........Outdated. And It has served it's purpose. Today, millions of children are trying to fit themselves into something that was never designed for who they are becoming. I know some of you heard that louder than others. Haha Right now, across England, over 1.49 million children are persistently absent from school, meaning they miss at least 10% of their education. Over 170,000 children miss more than half of their school year. And on any given census day, around 39,200 children are completely missing from education altogether. Behind every one of those numbers is a child. A child who woke up with anxiety. A child who cried at home because school felt impossible. A child who felt like they were the problem. But they are not the problem. Many of those children are simply trying to survive in classrooms that were designed more than a century ago. Lessons built for a world that no longer exists. Classrooms built for factories, not for human development. And while children struggle, there are teachers sitting at their desks at night wondering if they can keep going. Teachers who entered education with passion. Teachers who wanted to change lives. Teachers who now feel exhausted, overwhelmed, and unheard. This is not a story of failure. This is a story of evolution. Education has always evolved. The first schools looked nothing like the schools we know today. And the schools of the future will look different again. The question is not whether education will change. The question is whether we will have the courage to shape that change together. Because millions of families are already saying the same thing: Something needs to change. Parents feel it. Teachers feel it. Children feel it. Communities feel it. The Nurture Education Model is not about tearing down what works. It is about protecting the best parts of school while building something better around them. We keep the heart of education. The teachers. The relationships. The community. The sports days. The school trips. The moments that shape childhood. But we evolve the structure. We evolve the lessons. We evolve the environment. We give children independence. We give teachers the freedom to mentor rather than just deliver. We give families confidence that school is a place where their children can thrive, not just survive. This is not about replacing education. It is about nurturing it. Because when children feel safe, supported, and curious, something powerful happens. They begin to love learning. And when children love learning, everything changes. I want to say something important. This movement is not about my name. My name will not matter. The heroes of this story will be the children who found their confidence again. The teachers who rediscovered the passion they started with. The parents who spoke up when nobody was listening. And the communities who stood together and said: We can do better. Because it only takes one breath to blow out a candle. But a volcano cannot be stopped. And when parents, teachers, students, and communities come together, we are not a candle. We are a force of nature. Together, we can change education. Together, we can nurture the next generation. And when history looks back on this moment, it will not say education was broken. It will say this was the moment it finally evolved. And the people in this room were the ones brave enough to begin.
