@thedogsneedourhelp: 💔HER SISTER GOT ADOPTED & NOW SHE’S ALL ALONE, STILL WAITING. This beautiful girl was found as a stray with her sister in Greenville, TX. They are both super emaciated. Thankfully her sister found a home last week. Now she’s all alone 24/7. She’s only about 6 months old, & she is WAY too thin. She does appear to be gaining some weight while at the shelter, but she needs to keep going.. slowly & safely. When a dog is severely underweight, suddenly giving them large amounts of food can actually be dangerous because of refeeding syndrome. Her adopter needs to have her evaluated by a vet & follow an appropriate feeding plan, with small, frequent meals as recommended. She needs individualized care that a shelter kennel simply cannot provide. And please don’t act like she belongs outside in a backyard 24/7. She needs to be INSIDE with her family. She needs nutritious food, a comfy bed, proper vet care, training, exercise, enrichment, & someone who will love her. The shelter is constantly FULL, & she has already lost the only familiar face she had here when her sister was adopted (no shade to adopter at all). She shouldn’t have to sit there alone waiting for someone to notice her. 💔 This baby needs someone willing to give her the groceries, patience, care, & love she needs to grow into the healthy, happy dog she should have been all along. @Novella: Okay I just read the description and see that you're in Indianapolis Indiana.. I am in Myrtle Beach South Carolina and there's no chance that I can make it there today but very often I make trips up and down the East Coast for work and within the next week I should be making a trip up north and could swing through there. But that does not solve the problem of the requirement being that he needs to be picked up today and I don't actually know what to do because I will gladly take him but it is not possible for me to make it to Indianapolis today.
