They make cat deterrent things for the counter! I know ive seen jackson galaxy use little motion detecter things that puff air when a cat gets on the counter. Ive been tempted to buy some myself actually

I hate to say it, but I’ll be spraying vinegar on the counters and stuff. I don’t mind the smell. It’s very strong, but it works. And also, I just have to give her a look and she knows better. It’s only when I’m not looking where she wants to be a menace but she’s a perfect angel when I’m watching her.🌚🌚🌚🌚

Can’t help ya. My cat loves water, doesn’t mind most loud noises, and loves being on the counter. Her main objective? To get into the sink and drink the water from dirty dishes 😭😭

It took a LOT of patience but I had my counters BARE and anytime I was prepping her food and she jumped up, I put her food away and walked away. She only got fed if she was on the floor sitting pretty. Eventually she associated counters with no food, no stimulation & no attention. Provided an alternate spot for her to climb next to counters and now now she’s never on them!

I turned the sink sprayer on and soaked him one day. Mean? Yes. But it was for the greater good - his safety and ours

I’ve tried foil, I’ve tried putting things in the way so it’s not possible to jump up and waiting days so she becomes disinterested, clapping, yelling…nothing works. I swear my kitten isn’t afraid of anything BUT my vacuum. So now I keep the whole ass vacuum in the kitchen and every time I catch her up there I turn it on for like 2 seconds and she jumps down

I hate when other cat owners essentially tell you to just “deal with it” 😂 or to just put the stuff away. I put the stuff away and they’re still not allowed on my counters so now what ? It’s not inhumane or cruel to set certain boundaries with your cats. Mine are allowed to free roam. I just don’t want them on my counters when their paws have been all over the floor, all in the litter box where they use it, and in God knows what else.

My advice is be careful, cats always want what they can’t have so by reacting loudly or too often you make it a shiny forbidden thing that they will do constantly. I accidentally made going behind the TV forbidden for my cat and now she tries it constantly 😅

I tried everything with both my cats but no success and surrendered😭 I just make sure to keep things put away. However, my previous boy of 17 years once opened my air fryer and ate two garlic meatballs out of there and I was terrified for weeks he’d be so sick. He sat by that air fryer every night after 😂 I just know he’s in heaven crushing more meatballs

garlic is really toxic. it destroys their red blood cells. please keep an eye on him for signs and symptoms of anemia and keep it put away if you know he might get to it.

I trained my cats with a compressed air gun and just leave it on the counters at night!! They are mostly scared of the noise and I’ve really only had to use it on them maybe once or twice when they beg for food like this pic haha.

I wouldn’t yell or spray water or even use the puff of air. Those things are cruel. It’s in his nature to investigate new things. He will be curious and investigate at first. But eventually he will go on the counter less and less. My suggestion is to let him be. And remove everything off the counter that can hurt him. Garlic is deadly

I’d just keep all the things he can’t have out of his reach. There’s no stopping it
