They are in this building circled in red. The viewpoint of the oncoming flood is the blue arrow. The bus is circled blue and the yellow arrow indicates the viewpoint. The building they are in is at a much higher point than building in the opposite side of the valley where the bus is. It also sits at a point where there another valley heads upwards. If they followed the green arrow as an escape path then they would have been shielded from the flood.

Easy. They are at the bottom circled in blue. The bus is still there. Different bus with same branding. Red - is the camera angle. As you can also see the red roofs. Thank you😊
