@yury.ai: Hugging Face just launched a robot duck. It’s called Microduck, 10 inches tall, $399. It walks, gets up after a fall, grabs objects with its beak and even roller-skates. Inside there’s a camera and LiDAR, so it sees the room and doesn’t bump into things. You don’t program it, you train it. Want it to fetch something or cross a room? You set it up in a simulator on your computer, it trains there, and you push the skill to the real robot in one step. The whole stack is open on GitHub. My take: this duck has a future. Nvidia is reportedly closing in on buying Hugging Face, and if that goes through, little robots like this get serious muscle behind them.
