My mom used to call me at work, around 545 am. Most times I cut it short because I was busy. Then one time 2 weeks went by before another early call. I answered and almost said What! Then I remembered she died the week before.

In my early 20s my granny called me & didn’t answer so much that she won’t call me first even now most times. Makes me sick to think about honestly, I wish I could go back & answer. I did always call her back but that’s not the point. I don’t even blame her.

It’s sad when it comes down to us growing up and started our lives. We forget about those who helped us get where we are today. Our grandparents and our parents life is short. It doesn’t hurt to take time to answer that call when they call you because you never know that could be the last time you ever hear from them make time no matter if you’re at dinner with your friends or otherwise your grandparents and parents are the most important things in your lives. Nothing should ever come before them at their age.

My grandmother, in addition to loving me the most in indescribable ways, cooked dinner every night for me after my divorce. She did it occasionally at first, and then every night. I’d drive to her house after work and get a fantastic meal from a wonderful southern cook. When I didn’t come because I felt I was taking advantage, she’d always call and ask where I was. I never understood the act of love and service my nanny gave me. Until now.

Tears feeling my eyes as I think of the relationship my oldest daughter had with my precious momma, she called my mom every night while she took her doggie out, an her grandma would say ok honey are you in safely lock your doors I love you and look forward to talking with you tomorrow. We sure miss her. Life and love is the greatest gift we share with others. 🙏🏻 Thank you for sharing this beautiful story.

yes this happened to me I'd call an old friend or she called me many times a day I always called her back one early evening she called I was busy I'd call her in the morning,next morning my phone rang caller I'd said it was her I smiled and picked up the phone saying " good morning Miss Ruby I'm sorry I missed your call last night I love you" it's not Ruby her son said my mom passed away I fell apart I regret not speaking to her one last time 🙏

I never not answered my grandma. If she called and I didn’t answer I called always back the same day. Went to visit her 2 times per week. Not a day goes by that I don’t miss her. Our weekly visits were the best.
