@justtracyjustcause: A Story of the Creation of Original Sin Oops, I made a typo. 😂😇 I meant apple. You read evil. And Eve has been answering for it ever since. In Latin, mālum is an apple. Malum is evil. One little mark separates the fruit bowl from the confessional. Genesis never names the fruit. We supplied the apple afterward. The pun didn’t create the doctrine—but it certainly helped with the packaging. Apple™. Knowledge at your fingertips. Terms and conditions apply. The serpent promised understanding. Eve took a bite. Adam ate too. Then came the questions. Adam pointed to the woman. The woman pointed to the serpent. An unfortunate beginning for personal responsibility. But what if we made the apple green? Green as in inexperienced. Still growing. In my telling, they were just kids in love who made a dumb mistake before they understood its consequences. The first humans. No generations of experience behind them. Expected to get humanity right on the first try. Did they need eternal blame—or someone to teach them? Adam named her Eve, mother of all living. Yet somehow, in the stories we kept telling, giving life became inseparable from taking the blame. And then there was Lilith. Or, in the later folklore that made her Adam’s first wife, there was Lilith before. The woman who refused subordination. Who left. Let’s give her a question the garden could have used: Y/N? The woman who CHOOSES. The woman who CONSENTS. And whose NO is an answer. And for that we are CALLED BITCHES. Funny how quickly a woman acquires a new title when she declines the position assigned to her. Eve says yes and is blamed for choosing. Lilith says no and is damned for refusing. What, exactly, was the acceptable answer? Guess who Karma is, kids? In this telling, she’s Lilith returning with the terms you thought you could skip. Lilith Fair—or Lilith Fare? One asks whether she gets equal standing. The other asks what her departure costs you. You wanted her obedience. You needed her participation. And now you’re asking: What is a real woman? From this woman’s point of view: someone who gets to answer for herself. She CHOOSES. She CONSENTS. Her yes is hers to give. Her no is hers to say. Men, you ain’t got game. 😂😇 You never even asked. You never did. And that brings me to love, marriage—the whole damn thing. Evolutionary biology and conscious awareness. We inherit bodies, needs and capacities. Evolution does not guarantee wisdom. How we live together takes learning. I’m talking about spiritual development. Not religiosity. Not psychology. Spirituality—the conscious awareness of person, place, space and time. Recognizing the person beside you as someone with their own experience, boundaries and choices. Understanding where you are, what the moment asks of you, and the consequences of your actions. Not “survival of the fittest” as a rule for marriage. Not winning at someone else’s expense. Learning to share a life without demanding that one person disappear. Being inexperienced is not the same as being evil. Accountability asks us to acknowledge harm and change. Eternal blame refuses to let us become anything beyond our worst mistake. Love leaves room to learn. Two people who keep loving each other—or keep blaming each other.
