I took an 18 series rabies treatment as a 4 year old child. My entire family was exposed to rabies positive kitten. I will never forget those shots or ever risk my family getting exposed. Take the shot if exposed!

I am a vet tech who was attacked by rabid racoon in my garage of all places. I wasn't vaccinated yet. received the post exposure immunoglobulins AND vaccines series! It was absolutely terrifying by the way.

I was four months pregnant when I had to go through the series. It was absolutely mandatory that I took them because I was 100% exposed. Luckily there were no side effects to the baby that we know of.😂 She is now 17

Having had the post exposure prophylaxis TWICE because I’m stupid and didn’t keep up with the yearly vaccines, they do that immunoglobulin by weight, y’all. Which as a fat girl made me SO SAD

I worked in Vetmed and got bitten by a suspected rabies cat that someone had taped into a box. Found out day 9 post exposure that the cat tested negative, but that was a scary long 9 days.

I was in Girl Scout camp in the early 90s and we found a tiny bat in our bunk room our entire camp (easily over 100 girls and counselors) had to get a series of 3 shots over several weeks in the ER. It was painful shots and I still remember it 40 years later.

I was bitten in the mouth by a coyote that they never found I had to have 22 stitches in my mouth and they gave me one shot in the wound and another shot in the arm I think then another one in a week then 2 weeks then 3 weeks and I was done.

There is a black and white video of a man dying from rabies trying to drink a glass of water. I don’t know how anyone is blasé about rabies after seeing that.

I got vaccinated 30 years ago to donate my plasma to make the vaccines. Nice to know I would only need an update I guess. If it last that long.
