@yury.ai: AI just wrote 16 viruses that don’t exist in nature, and they work. A Stanford and Arc Institute model called Evo learned the language of DNA and designed brand-new viruses from scratch. It was trained only on viruses that attack bacteria, never ones that harm people. Of its designs, 16 became real phages that killed E. coli, including a strain resistant to a natural virus.
