Just remember, hissing doesn't always mean a bad thing. It's all communication and setting boundaries! Even if the baby gets smacked, that's normal too. Even the street cats don't do too much damage with each other. And I've seen and heard them tumble with each other like in the cartoon fights with smoke/dust around them. Trust, they will be LOUD if it's pure anger 😂. Some take longer to adjust, but it will always work out. (95 percent of the time) It takes patience, but most are fineeee. The best thing to do is observe and let them figure it out and not react right away when the hissing or smacking happens. 😂

I have four cats, and before introducing a new cat to my other cats, I kept the new cat in a neutral room for about a week. This makes it much easier for the new cat to get used to the new environment, smells, new experiences, and the people around them. It is EXTREMELY important not to scold your existing cat if they hiss at the kitten. Cats need to establish their own hierarchy, and especially kittens tend to receive a certain amount of tolerance. Your existing cat should receive plenty of love, attention, and gentle reassurance from you. Humans should not interfere with their interactions. With my cats, it took about 2–3 months for them to establish their new hierarchy. It is also important to emphasize that hissing and even occasional fights can be completely normal during this process.

Keep them apart for a few days. Bring the wee one out for 10 mins at a time and give the older one treats. That’s what I did and they’re besties now
