I was a huge Harry Potter fan, it was the first book my high-control church “changed their mind” on and led to me realize that most of what my church feared wasn’t actually dangerous to me or my soul. I would not be as compassionate and tolerant of others if Harry Potter hadn’t scared my church as bad as it did, but every time I see something about it I only think of the harm that the author is CHOOSING to do to trans women. I wouldn’t support any works based on an author who took an upskirt photo of a cis woman and blamed it on the fact her skirt was short enough for them to do it, why would I support an author who did it to a trans woman?

I just saw at my local theater that there's merch and special showings for the 25th anniversary. The fact that I've seen almost no marketing for such a big milestone for a major franchise tells you how much this brand is dying. 5-10 years ago you would have seen potterheads bending over backwards to celebrate the 25th anniversary. The bigot has poisoned her moneywell and I can only hope this show fails so spectacularly that no company dares touch her with a 10 foot pole
