We create a living cell (Spud cell) recently. This conversation is effectively over. Life occurs naturally.

The Urey Miller experiment started with non life and it ended with non life. It would be like finding a stick in my yard and thinking it would become a house.

Also going from an organic molecule to an organic SELF REPRODUCING molecule is totally possible. It follows the laws of physics. It’s not miraculous. So even if we don’t have the exact pathway it took, how is it hard to believe that something completely physical possible, happened?

i love abiogenesis 😛 but also hate it because now we gotta pay taxes. i was cool being a simple protein floating around in primordial soup man why did we have to do more than that

So abiogenesis? What if I told you that abiogenesis is merely one of Gods methods of creation and is not evidence against Him?

my body literally turns things that are not alive to things that are alive via chemical processes. if those chemical processes happen a few times randomly in nature over billions of years, you get life. the problem is these people who think the earth is only a couple thousand years old can't comprehend how long a billion years is and the amount of stuff that can happen in that time

Also like... we're MOSTLY water. We have to drink water, some of that water becomes part of us, in our cells, in our blood. On just a very baseline level, that's inorganic and nonliving matter becoming, through a series of reactions and processes, part of matter that IS organic, living matter. And those molecules really are just taking a massive shortcut.

he’s using an experiment where intelligent minds intervened and brought about life to try and prove that it happens randomly and accidentally…?

it's so strange how they will argue that it took intelligence to make this when the diagram is literally a planet getting hit with asteroids containing the building blocks of all life and over the length of billions of years created life by being stimulated by the temperature and weather patterns of all those years. I think something more simple for their minds would be, if you played the lottery a billion times, you'd probably lose every time, but there's still that chance you could have won, and who's to say you didn't win after a billion chances.

the best way to denote this is matter is not alive in any way shape or form. the function of being alive is processes. what's the matter begins to form processes then it counts as alive

This guy is being disingenuous in that experiment, what they found was that they created amino acids but it did not create life and no experiment ever has non-life become life. It’s amazing how people fall for this when we have the Internet and can clearly look it up ourselves.

Pat Santry :
The Miller–Urey experiment was not evidence that life came from non-life. It showed that under certain laboratory conditions, simple chemicals plus an energy source can produce amino acids. Amino acids are molecules used by living things, but they are not alive—just as nucleotides aren’t DNA and bricks aren’t a house.
The experiment did not produce a cell, DNA/RNA capable of self-replication, metabolism, or anything living. It also used a deliberately selected atmospheric mixture and apparatus designed to collect and preserve the reaction products.
Miller–Urey was an important chemistry experiment showing that some organic building blocks can form abiotically. That’s very different from demonstrating abiogenesis—the transition from nonliving chemistry to a self-replicating living system. That transition remains an unresolved scientific question.
