@zeina.raqs: Ya Tabtab by Nancy Ajram, such an upbeat and catchy song but the lyrics tell a completely different story: “Do tell him that I also have my ups and downs! At times I’ll feel upset, and others I’ll indulge him. (Give him my eye) Who amongst us feels good all the time? He’s wearing me out! He has driven me to madness!” When I first heard it, I wouldn’t have guessed that this is what Nancy Arjam was saying. But poetically, that’s so often what love feels like. You’re happy and in love, yet deep down, your feelings reflect that something isn’t lining up the way you thought it would. That contrast is exactly what makes Ya Tabtab such a beautiful piece to dance to. One thing I’ve been working on is trying to reflect emotion in my expression to capture the true meaning of the songs.
