@just.ask.hannah: Most mainstream personal finance advice considers debt to be something to avoid at all costs. But the truth is more nuanced, and the responsible use of debt is a key pillar of wealth building for everyone I met on Wall Street #PersonalFinance #creditcarddebt #mortgagetips

My dad was a financial advisor and I was always taught to never spend your own money when you can spend somebody else's 🤷‍♀️

I’m sorry this is great advice but I’m distracted by the perspective making it seem like you have the worlds biggest glass of wine next to you

I think about this a lot, especially with my 3.6% home loan. But I still pay $100-200 against my principal each month because I just know I’m not going to invest that — I’m going to spend it on crap. 😂

I would do this with my 0% credit card but my credit utilization would suffer and I can’t afford to lose points right now

The wealthy can pay off their debt more consistently/have other safety nets, which makes the debt less dangerous. This tactic is far more dangerous for poor peope

People also need to understand the concept of cost basis too. My goal is to lower my cost basis for any large purchases. Whether it's through credit card points, 0% interest credit cards, market tools like options etc. Cost basis is everything!
