I got sat next to a helicopter pilot. I finally learned that the dings meant we’re at 10000 feet and then 30000 feet. I used to think people were just really impatient waiting for their drinks calling the flight attendants every flight.

as a child of a pilot, and the sister of a pilot, believe me, all they want to talk about is planes. my sister only dates other pilots, their only subject is planes. I can't exaggerate how much all of them like talking about planes, ask your questions

this was my pilot dad last year spending HOURS explaining everything he knew about planes to the person next to him (he discovered my dad was a pilot and was very excited about this). They spend like 6 hours talking on a 12 hours of the flight. Don’t be afraid to ask!!!

Airline pilot wife here—he would LOVE to hear all your questions!! Especially the Southwest pilots, they choose them based on their outgoing personalities. Go for it unless they are obviously trying to sleep before the next flight.

One time I got the middle seat between two pilots and I asked them „are you okay if I ask you questions about planes?“ and they both said yeah and I said „are you SURE it’s okay because I have 80 on deck right now“ and they said it was cool. Anyways, now I’m in school to become an aircraft mechanic 😂
