Ok, so…. This seems like the safest place to ask this question, because I’m so confused about what my ex best friend was saying. He identified as a she up until a few months ago and it wasn’t surprising at all, I was waiting for him to feel comfortable enough to live his truth. Now here is where my brain started to struggle… he says “I’m not trans, I’m just a guy” and he still identifies as a lesbian. If I’m wrong, someone please correct me, because I genuinely don’t understand. What I’m hearing from that is that he thinks he’s above being trans and gets to drop that label, just because he doesn’t want it. I’m sure all trans people would love to just be what they are on the inside and drop that label. So if she now identifies as a he and is attracted to women, would that not mean that he is a straight trans man??

Non binary means outside of there binary choices of man/woman. It is still under the flag of trans as well but there’s a lot of space between the binary genders. Non binaries occupy that entire spectrum between the two

nonbinary includes literally everyone who doesn’t fit neatly into man or woman. some people treat it as a third gender with specific rules when that’s never been the case

I mean, my gf is gender apathetic. an old couple came in to her work once, 1 said "young man" other said "young lady". they looked at each other and shrugged. She likes doing that to people. she goes by she/he/they/it. all of the above.
