I’m checking if the compressor is running or not. That’ll tell you if you can skip checking the relays, fans etc. and start looking for a leak.

I make sure the switch feels normal or light/message comes on when pressed, then I check to see if compressor is engaged then I go to checking pressures and go from there

Step one, verify, can’t tell you how often it’s actually nothing wrong and it’s just hot out… then check compressor, condenser for rock strikes, the pressures

compressor clutch engagement. if its not, im using a screwdriver to try and spin the clutch to check for lockup. after that, hook up gauges

first thing im checking is the ambient temp on the radio if its reasing 27c and its 90 out then the a/c wont kick on

always freon level. how do you know if the system is allowed to operate. second can be pids for ac request or ac allowed. third would be the clutch power and ground. usually always power. if the clutch doesnt have power and the pcm isnt grounding the relay then there is a reason. high side switch, low pressure cutoff, ambient air , evaporator temp ect
