@f9finance: Claude for finance usually means work. This time I pointed it at a household: closed the month, ran the variance analysis, and built a full month-end pack. It took about 12 minutes. Era is a personal MCP server for your money. You connect your bank accounts once, then work through the AI you already use — Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or anything else that speaks MCP. Era holds the context, refreshes the transactions, and remembers your rules and categories. Your AI does the analysis. We spend a week every month at work reviewing the books, running flux analysis, and building a deck nobody outside finance ever sees. Then we go home to a banking app and a vague feeling about how the month went. Same person, two completely different standards. This is what closes that gap. Three things I run in this video. First, the chart of accounts: Claude reads 536 transactions and proposes categories that match how this household actually spends, and it pulls internal transfers out before I have to ask. Second, the close: all 111 July transactions coded, 96 spend, 5 income, 10 transfers, with 6 items held back for me to decide instead of guessed at. Third, the flux, which is the part I have done for other people's numbers for a decade and never once for my own.
