The country maintained this position in 2025 and, during the first half of 2026, increased both the volume and value of its exports compared to the same period of the previous year. Between January and June 2026, the country exported 7070 tons of equine meat, 10% more than in the same period of 2025, while the value of foreign sales increased 42%. The main exporter responded to LA NACION that the production of equine meat constitutes a "residual" activity, since "horses are not bred for slaughter."...
