I refuse to eat at restaurants that serve foie gras. If im paying to eat at a nice place, I expect better ethics.

Foie gras being ethical depends on where you source it, if it’s through forced feeding then yes it’s unethical, but there are farms that do it with out forced feeding.

They shove a big as funnel inside the ducks mouth all the way down the throat and force feed heavy fats and grains consistently so their liver becomes coated with fat. Unethical and much different from average farms

It’s literally fatty duck liver due to the causation of them making the duck binge eat FORCIBLY. They literally use a tube that they stick directly to the ducks stomach and fill it with so much grain that it obviously translates to a fatty liver from high soy content and obviously the ducks aren’t moving and getting exercise and then they’re sent to the slaughter when they’re happy w the liver sizing. There’s no such thing as ethical to get high quality or any quality really of foie gras, but people still eat it and if you eat it, then you should be aware like with veal where they’re also trap the baby in a tiny stall so the meat stays super super lean. People will still make it and people will still eat it regardless what’s thought of it, but I think the fact that they do this means they should be highly aware of what it takes. I eat meat, but won’t eat those items specifically due to that. I respect any agricultural product I eat and am thankful for the nutrients I get that keep me healthy, but things like veal and foie gras are too far for me and the taste isn’t even that good to me when I didn’t even know but was told to try before they told me what it was :/ be aware of everything you eat even if it’s not animal based. That includes things with artificial ingredients!

For people who wanna know, there are very few people, I’ve seen only one after looking on TikTok for a minute, who every year gets new ducks onto a large property were they can roam and go about and feeds them well and a lot, it’s instead of force feeding via tube
