People don’t understand that this case isn’t just about postpartum psychosis. If she’s found not guilty because of her mental illness, that could set a precedent where anyone with a mental illness could potentially be exempt from criminal responsibility, regardless of the crime. What about someone with schizophrenia who murders someone? No mental illness justifies taking another human being’s life.

Postpartum Psychosis is not a just a hormone imbalance. It’s a break with reality, it’s a medical emergency.. in no way shape or form is murder ever justified especially with small children involved but this joke narrative of “3 men are trying to explain to 9 women hormones don’t excuse murder” is just incorrect because it’s SO MUCH more then that.
