I’ve still got a couple months before I leave for Basic Training, at least until I re-negotiate my contract (currently classed as a 68W Combat Medic but I’m planning on changing it because I gave it a lot of genuine thought and I realized I am NOT the type of person that people should be trusting with their lives in a high-intensity combat situation). Do you got any training or preparation advice? I’d say I’m above-average physically since I’ve maintained exercising for the past three years, but I’m built more for speed and endurance rather than strength, and I’m worried about the Army fitness test stuff, especially the push-up and weight portions.

Yes for all of them EXCEPT boots, just get a $14 pair of insoles and they'll be way more comfortable. Still heavy and g ugly, but guess which pair I have more miles on (issued left, bought right)

Also, I during reception, I read on a restroom stall “drink the koolaid, it make it easier” this stuck with me during basic and actually helped me out. Once you realize that it is all out of your control and you just need to ride the wave, all the BS becomes easier to manage.
