I am so jealous of your pump 😭 I want it so bad but its so expensive when youre on one income. On a side note, the biggest things I didnt know that WRECKED my first journey (on #3 now) was 1- having your baby checked for ties (they didnt catch it until she was 3 months and no one wanted to fix it at that point and my supply was pretty much gone) and 2- most people dont actually where the universal 24/28mm. I was consistently using a 24mm flange when with 2 and 3 I only needed a 17mm.

Do you have any experience with high lipase milk?! I defrosted a bag today to test since we haven’t used any and it was atrocious. I have probably close to 1000oz of frozen milk and I’m devastated 😭

I can’t speak for everyone but from my experience, if they say the baby has a tongue tie, get it revised immediately. They told me my first’s tt was minor and shouldn’t affect feeding, but f yes it did. And apparently it is still big enough that her orthodontist brought it up at age 10 🙄

This is my 4th baby, but the first I plan to EBF.. 37 weeks and still not leaking colostrum, not having any lucky expressing either… what’s gonna happen when baby latches after birth?

Yess to all of this! Also, don’t let the birth weight drop scare you!! If you labor in a hospital with an iv, your baby can have an inflated birth weight due to all the hydration efforts and they will naturally lose that water weight over the next few days. I think a lot of moms get scared thinking their baby isn’t getting enough milk and choose to switch or supplement with formula (which there is NOTHING wrong with that), but it can tank your milk supply.

Meeting with a lactation consultant next week finally baby boy is a month today and I regret not doing it sooner but it’s so crazy and then my sweet boy has a tongue tie but everyone said he latched amazing in the hospital but now I’m thinking his latch is swallow and he’s struggling with flow like I think my let down is to fast idk it’s been a crazy couple of days switched to pumping and giving him bottles yesterday cuz he was just on and off constantly but wasn’t getting anything till I pumped and gave him the bottle

i’m so grateful that my OBGYN provides free breastfeeding classes. i take mine on the 10th! i pray for a very healthy baby, and that i have a healthy amount of supply for her

I'm on baby number 4 tring to breast feed and I feel like I dont make enough he is 5 months and when I pump I only get half oz to oz on one side and 2 max on other

Yes! Preach!! I’ve had seven babies and I’ve done all sorts of nursing and pumping and formula and BM donation 😂 a fed baby is a fed baby, period! 💗 All of this is SO important and SO true!!!

Not to mention how to know your baby is getting enough - weight gain and number of dirty and wet diapers. Most moms don’t realize that’s the indicator of supply, not how much your baby latches.

When I tried to breastfeeding my son, I could never get any help with understanding to the logistics. I kept asking how long (initially) do you go for each breast, or do you do one breast per feed, or 15 min each side (more? Less) and I could never find anyone who just talked about that simple stuff. But I got so stuck on that part

my twins are 2 months old and they are barely starting to latch now. I dont make enough for both when pumping. I know the pump doesn't get it all so I supplement with formula. I want to not use formula and be able to breast feed and not just pump but the twins specifically my son wont latch long enough to get full and he gets frustrated with how slow it comes out while my daughter gets frustrated but shell keep trying. any suggestions on how long to keep them on before giving up and giving them a bottle ?I feel so bad when they get frustrated so I barely leave them on unless she gets a good latch and keeps chugging until she falls asleep

I gave up cause the lactation consultant only taught me one latching position saying any other one wouldn't work, and left me with bruises.
