Plus school kids will always something to be envious and create competition about. Personally, I’d rather it be food I give them than things more valuable they shouldn’t be sneaking to school like money, jewelry, toys etc.

My kids get a small treat anytime I have to pack their lunch and it’s not stopping. They know to please eat their mains first and then have their treat. And it’s something small, Oreo Easter egg chocolate few m&ms, and I will

We have all of it in our home and teach our kids to balance activity and treats. I don’t teach calories but discuss activity offset

As a mom of a kid who can’t have dairy-Oreos are a perfect little treat!

In an Alcohol Studies class in 1989, it also led to alcoholism. Growing up with a taboo led to experimentation and a possible addiction. The Oreo gate was found to have been generated by AI.

My son who is 4 wanted a fast food chain we don’t eat at. So we explain good ingredients and bad ingredients and ones that will help build strong muscles and bones. But he’s absolutely gets his fair share of sweet treats and snacks, but he’s so good at acknowledging too much is not good for his body. Now every time we pass said place he says he’s going to talk to them to get better ingredients 🤣

I don't obsess over "bad foods," so much as label others as necessities. We all need our nutrients and safe foods! . For those of us with eating difficulties, ARFID, allergies and whatnot, we can make do with what we're able. And we've also got supplements! Never feel guilty for eating what you can, because fed is best.

Listen, if a parent told me not to do something is just going to make me do it even more 😂 as in, I’m going to drop off an entire Costco sized box of that food for the entire class to share. If it’s not an allergy related concern, I’m gonna be that petty awesome parent to the kids lol

My husband must not have had any sweet snacks as a kid because our pantry has its own “Little Debbie” section for the variety of snack cakes he buys at the grocery store..😂

As the mother of four young adults, I completely agree. They always got one treat in their lunchboxes every day. They are now extremely healthy eaters and I rarely ever see them eat junk food. They’ve never had any weight or health issues.

I have to allow my child to be “fed” his way. I beg plead, push and keep introducing things all the time but it’s a non winning battle. I pray daily for him to someday eat normally but he has so many textual issues his disordered eating is real and exhausting….. so I’m sorry I have to send the cookie!

My son is a picky eater due to sensory issues. This includes all types of food so if he tries someone else's food I'm all for it.

As a preschool director , you are are right !! And!! They do sneak it. The kids who aren't allowed ever and have all fruits and veggies for snacks they sneak food and steal treats from others. It's sad and heartbreaking.

the audacity of thinking she can dictate what other kids are eating when it's not allergy related! 🤨

When I was a kid playing with my other younger cousins. My aunt and uncle would say don’t let your cousins eat any chocolate they are allergic. Time went on several yrs later my aunt told me I just didn’t want them having chocolate or fights over chocolate so I decided too just say they were allergic. Is this morally wrong as well.

My son is three and I still have not introduced any processed meats to him that includes hotdog dogs, deli meat, chicken nuggets, pepperoni, etc. once he goes to school and he comes home, curious about these things that is when we will start slowly introducing them to him in moderation. I just really wanted him to get into the habit of eating white meat and fish and beans which thankfully he does enjoy all of those things, but I just still have not introduced the processed meats or the red meats to him yet just because I want him to develop a taste for the other things before we start slowly introducing processed meats.
