Just a heads up for that 6.5, the high volume oil pumps tend to starve the bottom end, just use a factory replacement

I will say a 700r4 is a good trans id definitely leave it TBI that system is super reliable I also might consider a 200r4 they are a bit more efficient then the 700 as strong with a higher overdrive

AS A 90s tbi guy that loves his tbi I will admit the carb and 700r4 idea is great for something you don’t daily but the tbi is reliable if you replace sensors every year but you will love a 6.5 and 4l80 I had a 95 6.5 turbo was the best truck I had not fast but would pull any trailer i hooked it up to
