My dad loved this show when I was growing up. And he understood what the show was about. He became exactly like him anyway.

I took a broadcasting class in college in 1988 and the professor specifically talked about Archie Bunker and how it was used as a mirror for society to force people to reassess their own views.

so a lot of people didn't also get the fact that a lot of these shows there was a lot of racial charged comedy that went both ways. in the back of the matter that back then no one was offended because realistically except for certain parts of the country we all got along really great. and most of us still do today. but the problem is with TV today it's a one-sided narrative ran by the communist you know I used to be a liberal up until about 6 years ago and unfortunately the liberal party has become a communist socialist party and their values are not aligning anymore with true American values. I can't say that I'm mega like you people think it's such a bad thing to have pride in your country.

I love this show...bcuz altho archie...was racist his daughter and his son n law i think his name was Micheal but Archie called him meathead and his wife Edith really did not like his racist ways...so while he did n said racist shit on the show there was always one of his family members checking him...fun fact the jeffersons was a spin off from this show

There are still a lot of “Archie’s” out there…Unhappy, not connecting to the modern world and could be getting a lot more out of life! Just stuck day after day sitting around in your armchairs (and board rooms) being miserable and hateful

They chose the right man to play the type of man he hated. Carrol was a real person, kind hearted, made us believe Archie, as he warned us that Archie was mean and cruel, suffered in his hate .

What made “All in the Family” such a revolutionary and one of the most important TV shows ever in America’s history. Unlike previous television it show the fantasy or spectacle or glory of the US, but its guts. O’Connor did an awesome job of it.

The show was so relatable because we all had an Archie bunker person in our lives. It was a common character and personality trait. That was a great show.
