The general population is unfortunately too dumb to understand science. When I learned about the "point of no return" a few years back in college, I started asking strangers I encountered throughout the day (cashiers, clerks) what they thought about climate change. The majority of their answers made me feel hopeless for humanity, and all the other lifeforms we share our Earth with.
