September is Suicide Prevention Month, and with everything we’ve been posting with Firetruck Karaoke, we wanted to take a minute to explain why this means more to us than just singing songs on a fire truck. This job can get heavy. And honestly, life can get heavy too. We see things in this profession that stay with us, and things that sometimes feel impossible to talk about. And for a lot of men, asking for help can be one of the hardest things we’ll ever do. Sometimes we hide behind the jokes. We say we’re fine. We go back to work. We keep moving, but maybe somebody watching one of these videos is having a really bad day. Maybe they just need something to make them smile. Maybe they need to be reminded that they’re not alone. That’s why we’re doing this. We’re not trying to be influencers. We’re not trying to compete with anybody. We just want to spread some positivity and give people a reason to laugh because you never know what somebody is carrying when you see them. So check on your people. Check on your brother. Check on your buddy. And if you’re the one struggling, please say something. You matter more than you know! And if singing a song on a fire truck can bring somebody five minutes of happiness, then we’ll keep singing because sometimes a little joy can make a bigger difference than we realize. And if you’re in the fight right now… Stay. Keep fighting. And don’t fight it alone. #firetruckkaraoke #singalong #goodvibes #firefighter #suicidepreventionmonth
