And bishops have no educational training or degrees in therapy, psychology or child development. They are often just businessmen or executives in companies. They work full time and are not paid. They do it out of obligation and/or for status.

When I was 15 I got into a relationship with a girl in my young women’s that started out as something silly and a joke and ended up as a real one. She had mental issues and would send me videos of her cutting herself covered in blood. I told me mom cuz I didn’t know what to do and I wanted to help her. She made me go to the bishop and confess and basically rat her out. He had me show him the pictures and asked in depth how far we went with each other (the most we ever did was kiss a few times but the questions got crazy). She never talked to me after that and rightfully so. Imagine my horror when I started learning actual shit about the world and how common it is for men to get off on the thought of lesbian intimacy. Now the only thing I can think about the meeting is how many of those questions got him excited
