@pamelamissqueen: What does that mean? Sometimes you are so overwhelmed, hurt, confused, or emotionally exhausted that you don’t even know what to pray. But the Holy Spirit helps you. Intercession means to intervene or plead on behalf of another. So the Holy Spirit is working on your behalf in prayer helping you in your weakness and bringing your needs before God according to God’s will. And verse 27 takes it even deeper: “And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.” That’s powerful because it means: You may not have the words, but God understands the heart. You may only be able to say, “Lord, help me.” You may cry instead of pray. You may sit quietly because you don’t know what to say. The Holy Spirit is still helping you. And this connects beautifully with the topic of offense: when you’re hurt by someone and don’t know how to respond, you don’t have to react out of your emotions.
