Libraries pay licensing fees for books, too. Ugh. the unmitigated greed of these people.

That's so disgusting. Libraries spend LOTS of money on books, even more digital copies than readers do.

Libraries pay 10x retail for epubs and are paying more than retail for books to be library bound anyway. If I ever found out an author intentionally blocked their book from libraries for profit I would never support them again.

Who is this anti-library shill? If it were attempted, sales would drop. If I can’t get a book from the library, I just don’t read it. But I will totally buy a book I started and loved but ran out of time before it was due back.

My library system already has a delay of at least 3 months. It just takes so long for a book to come in and get processed. It doesn’t matter if I preorder a book, it takes three months minimum for it to show up at my branch. There’s a bunch of manga i ordered two years ago that just showed up this June bc our vendor was terrible and I had to wait six months to request it again each time. We got a new vendor and it took them 6-8 months for the manga to come in. These weren’t super old or just published, they were all published in the last four years so they should’ve had them in stock. If publishers add an additional delay it will take years before my library system sees a new book.

It’s bad enough you have to wait till day 2 to get a kindle book to work. That’s long enoughhhhhh

Why is 2026 the year of authors coming out against libraries? Mind you, she hasn’t had a single book get more than 300 reviews. She NEEDS the visibility of the library 😆

For popular books like fourth wing and yesteryear my library system didn’t order nearly enough copies. We had eight copies in the system and a hold list of 60+ people. I know people got tired of waiting and just bought it. Publishers don’t need the delay bc people excited for the book will still buy it.

Whaaaaat?! Libraries pay licensing fees which also pay royalties. I’ve never had sales impact from library systems picking up my book. She just wants someone to blame for her poor sales
