When I rescued mine, I spent 6hrs at the shelter waiting to see her. She walks out, smells me and walks away. The staff were kinda shocked when I adopted her. First night I let her do her thing. Didn't bother her, she just crashed out with a smile on her face. Next day see finally climbs on me and i haven't been able to get her off since.

For a very masculine large person to manage to win over such a traumatized little baby is so tricky! My family used to rehab dogs and I was always the first socializer as a tiny feminine kid, then my mom, then my brother, then my dad was the last hurtle that took the longest. Married a big masculine dude who can win over the traumatized little ones of all species, ours included. The green flags are billowing 🥰
