I don’t think I’m fully ready to put into words what I’m feeling right now. In just a few days, I’ll be leaving Spain and making my way back to South Korea, and somehow, my heart hasn’t quite caught up with the reality that this chapter of my life is coming to an end. Finishing filming is supposed to feel like a moment of celebration, and a part of me is incredibly proud, grateful, and relieved. But there’s another part of me that feels this quiet, overwhelming sadness that I can’t really explain. Because somewhere between the long filming days, the exhausting moments, the unexpected challenges, the laughter, and all the little things I never thought I would miss, Spain slowly became more than just a place I came to work. It became a part of my story. It’s strange how a place can find its way into your heart without you even realizing it. You arrive thinking you’re only here for a certain amount of time, focused on the work you came to do, counting the days until everything is finished. And then, before you know it, the streets become familiar, the sunsets become memories, the people become important, and the ordinary days you barely paid attention to become the very days you wish you could hold on to a little longer. And now, I’m looking at everything differently. The places I might have walked past without a second thought, the corners of this city that have quietly witnessed my days, the sky I’ve seen so many times after filming, even the little routines that became part of my life here. Suddenly, everything feels precious because I know that soon, I won’t be experiencing it in the same way anymore. In a few days, I’ll be back in South Korea, returning to a life that feels familiar, to the people and places that are waiting for me, and to the next chapter that I know I need to embrace. And of course, there’s comfort in that. There’s excitement, too. But even when you’re going somewhere you love, it doesn’t mean leaving somewhere else hurts any less. I can be happy to go home and still be heartbroken to leave Spain. I can feel proud of everything I’ve accomplished here and still wish I had a little more time. I can be ready for what comes next and still feel completely unprepared to say goodbye to what has been. Maybe growing up means learning that two opposite feelings can live inside your heart at the same time. Maybe it means understanding that not every ending needs to be something you’re ready for, and not every goodbye means you wanted things to end. I’m taking so much more than the memories of filming with me. I’m taking the version of myself that existed here. The person who kept going on the difficult days, who found little moments of happiness in the middle of a busy schedule, who learned things she probably wouldn’t have learned anywhere else, and who grew in ways she might not fully understand until much later. I know that life will move forward. There will be new projects, new places, new people, and new beginnings. One day, Spain might feel like a beautiful memory tucked somewhere in the back of my mind, something I look back on with a smile and a little ache in my chest. But right now, it doesn’t feel like just a memory yet. It still feels like my life, and I’m not quite ready to let go of it. Thank you, Spain, for this chapter. For the memories I expected, the moments I never saw coming, the lessons hidden inside the difficult days, and the beautiful little things I didn’t know I would one day miss. For now, I’m not going to rush myself into feeling okay about leaving. I’m going to let myself feel everything: the sadness, the gratitude, the exhaustion, the pride, the nostalgia, and the excitement for what lies ahead. Because this chapter deserves a proper goodbye The filming may be over, and in a few days, I’ll be on my way home. But some endings stay with you long after you’ve left the place where they began. #goviral #leedongwook
