@thestorydaily: A rare and meaningful sighting has brought new hope to turtle conservation efforts in Terengganu. According to the Terengganu State Fisheries Department, a leatherback turtle, known as one of the largest turtle species in the world, is believed to have landed at Pantai Marang, Terengganu on 1 September 2026. The discovery was made after officers found large crawling tracks measuring about 2.1 metres wide, along with a nesting site containing eggs estimated to be around 52mm in diameter. A total of 44 eggs have since been safely transferred to the Rantau Abang hatchery and are expected to hatch within the next seven to nine weeks.
