This comes from an American who grew up in this system, played D1 college soccer at Cal State Fullerton, played professional soccer in Europe, and now works as a performance coach for top players at Arsenal and AC Milan. U11 girls with no competition or challenging play. U15 boys, At this age, it is about developing coordination, proprioception, and basic skill level so you can play at the highest level. It is not about fitness. It is about developing talent. It is embarrassing seeing coaches paid good money waste access to all this infrastructure. In Europe, they develop players like Dembele and Mappe on concrete courts in the ghetto. That is the difference and that is the core problem in US soccer.
