In a COLLEGE class this is ridiculous. A simple “hey can you stop the pen clicking” would have been fine. People don’t pay attention in college lectures. It’s something that just happens. But professors ignore them. They leave it up to you to pay attention. Not the professors job to discipline.

The best part of going to college in my mid 30’s was calling out the shitty professors HARSHLY in front of the younger students who were not as confident to speak up. Trust, I chastised them for their behavior, went to the dean, filed complaints, and ensured that several were not invited back to teach.
