While traveling through Mexico, I stopped at a truck stop and talked with Mexican drivers about what life on the road is like there. Some of them have driven on both sides of the border, and their perspective was eye-opening. Different roads. Different equipment. Different pay. Different challenges. But the job itself has something important in common. Whether a driver is hauling freight through Mexico, the United States, Canada, or anywhere else in the world, someone is spending long hours behind the wheel to keep goods moving and businesses running. This isn't about deciding who has it harder. It's about perspective and recognizing the work drivers do everywhere. We spend a lot of time talking about what should improve in trucking, and those conversations are important. But sometimes it's also worth looking beyond our own borders and hearing what the job looks like for the person behind the wheel somewhere else.
