I was in a similar relationship with someone who reminded me a lot of Dutch. Unfortunately, I have BPD, and my ex, who ironically works as a DBT therapist treating patients with BPD and other mood disorders, took advantage of my vulnerabilities and made me feel like I was going absolutely crazy. That relationship made my symptoms so much worse. Now, even though I’m in a much healthier and happier relationship, I still feel like I’m constantly on edge because I don’t know what peace feels like. I’m genuinely happy with my partner, but sometimes I still act like Molly O’Shea because I’m so used to being in survival mode. It’s gotten better since completing a DBT inpatient program, but I’m still learning how to feel safe and at peace in a healthy relationship.

He was so cold to her, he got bored of her… made her feel like she was asking too much, made her feel like she was going crazy. She second guessed herself, didn’t choose herself, she deserved more. This cycle is too familiar. We need to choose ourselves first, we deserve it. ♥️

I hate that there was a mission that starts with you talking to Molly and she asks you for a favor and then Uncle totally interrupts her and takes Arthur on a failed wagon heist. 🙄

Despite calling myself Dutch and being a Dutch fictionkin, I relate to Molly a lot. I’ve been through too much relationship problems, attachment issues, neglect, so much more. Unfortunately, my ex girlfriend would talk me down and insult me, her excuse was because she loves me. She doesn’t seem to be doing that to anyone else she loves. She made me feel so bad about my looks, she’d ask me why I’m not sending her pictures of myself. I’d tell her I don’t like how I look as much anymore. She’d get pissed and tell me to take a joke. It got to the point where I’d cry myself to sleep every night about her words. I finally broke up with her after new years.
