Questionor/Teao :
the current theory is they "tell time" by smell: that your smell in the house gradually dissipates and their know how little of your smell is left when you usually get home and have confused their dogs by "resetting" the clock by having someone bring their person's clothes home to spread their scent around to make it lay longer. i don't think this has been fully proven yet though.
