Again, this is not how this works. Pag nag 'connect' ka into malicious wifi, it doesn't automatically mean na makukuha na nila 'yung credentials mo. They can only read the sites na vinivisit mo while connected dun sa network na yun. The worst thing they can do is to redirect you into phishing sites. So as long as you're not entering your email and password into something or installing an app you'll be fine.

programmer and IT here. nope, its impossible for a wifi to just steal your data automatically. especially if its a fishing wifi. it does not work like that. you will still have to click a link or a fake site in order for your data to be stolen. based on on your words here. there is a big possibility that it is your bank who stole your funds. you know why? my siblings also experienced that. i tried to check if there are malware or virus or fishing apps, there were none. all that happened is that banks were offering insurance, crypto, and some other stuff inside the banks while they were applying for card, of course they declined. so someone withdraw their funds. i tried to search the ping address, it was on the bank in where they applied the location of the withdrawal. we already warned and shouted at the bank staffs and manager once you will illegally withdraw thier money again without authorization by using fishing scams that was an inside job in banks we will make them viral and sue for damages. after that we did not anymore experience being withdrawn again from inside job theft from bank personell because i am keeping evidence that will surely close down thier bank and have them arrested. i still have the evidence with me. thats why they dont anymore try to dare steal from us ever again.

natatawa ako sa mga ganitong post to be honest, as someone in the tech industry, this is funny. It all boils down to user lack of due diligence and or negligence, they cannot hack you via wifi. Phones now are advamced enough, unless the user is gullible or uto uto

Unfortunately, hindi lang public/free wifi yung dangerous pati yung mga public USB charging ports can be used to install malware or steal data from your phone na rin. So better mag sub na lang ng No Expiry Data and bring your power banks or use brick chargers. Also, always always lock/freeze your bank accounts kung di gagamitin. Hope gumalaw agad yung dispute cases mo Sir Loi. 🙏

Phishing, fake Wi-Fi, malware, stolen credentials, and social engineering are generally much more practical attack routes today.

Yung BPI CC ko may fraudulent transaction, purchased was made in Makati pero nasa Alabang ako nung day & time nang transaction. I told the BPI CS na impossible kasi I have my CC w me. Under investigation daw kasi yung on site daw yung purchase? Sabi ko paano mangyayari eh nasa Alabang ako. When I got my statement on the ff month di nila tinanggal yung fraudulent transaction and I tried to call them multiple times pero walang nag assist. I ended up paying kasi possible daw na magka penalty ako for not paying the whole amount. Nkakagalit. Kaya wwithdrahin ko na pera ko sa kanila, napaka unsafe and Ill not use BPI cc anymore.

curious talaga ako. benebenta ba ng mga banko yung bank info/details natin sa mga scammer? bakit nila alam yung bank account number, atm cards, credit cards and other personal details natin? like bro, d ko ginagamit atm cards ko online or nay merchants. d nga activated atm cards ko para ma access nila accounts ko. d din ako naka online banking para iwas hacking.
