💔 ONE IS DEAD. ONE IS STILL FIGHTING TO SURVIVE. ANOTHER ONE INJURED. ONE IS STILL MISSING. 💔 I have rescued animals from some absolutely heartbreaking situations, but this one has made me sick to my stomach. They were BABIES. Babies that had already been dumped like garbage and left on a backroad to fend for themselves. They were hungry. They were scared. They had no home, no protection, and no idea that simply wandering in the wrong direction could cost them their lives. And now one of them is dead. Two more were shot and somehow survived long enough for me to get them to the vet. One was shot in the stomach. The other was ran over in his back end and was hollering and dragging himself because he couldn’t walk normally. He is the one I am most terrified for. And the fourth baby? Still missing. I desperately want to believe that baby ran, hid somewhere and is still alive. But after what has already happened, I am terrified of the alternative. Then there is the culvert. Watching a place where one of these injured babies sought shelter be blocked off absolutely breaks me. A wounded puppy hiding inside was trapped with no way to get back out. Just imagine being that small. Scared. Injured. Confused. Looking for somewhere—ANYWHERE—to feel safe. They didn’t know they weren’t wanted there. They didn’t know they were in danger. They were just trying to survive. The puppy you see lifeless in this video deserved to grow up. The two lying at the vet deserved to be playing, chewing up somebody’s shoes and driving somebody crazy like puppies are SUPPOSED to do. And the one still missing deserves for me to keep looking. I cannot promise everyone a happy ending tonight. I wish more than anything that I could. But I CAN promise those two survivors that if there is any chance they can be saved, I will fight like hell to give them that chance. And if the injuries are simply too much, I will love them through it and make sure they do not suffer. Because after everything these babies have endured, the very least they deserve is to know that somebody cared whether they lived or died. 😭💔 Four innocent puppies. One gone. Two fighting.
