A friend of mine was hospitalised in Italy and told that she would not survive. While critically ill, she was reportedly encouraged to sign an organ donation agreement written in Italian—a language she could not understand. Thankfully, a Ghanaian who understood Italian advised her not to sign it. Six years after being declared terminally ill, she is alive, well, and healthy today. Truly, these things do happen.
