It is wild. Like these companies are making lots of money but because they didn't make the millions/billions they projected they are like "yea we made 5 billion, cost was 350 million. Since we did not make our projected income of 6 billion we are laying people off"

My favorite is when they are comparing profit from one year to the next in which both are profitable years but because the most recent is lower then the previous they “lost money.” Dude, a profit is a profit. You wouldn’t have a profit if you lost money for that year. Maybe stop spending “potential” money you don’t actually have because of your made up projections you didn’t actually hit.

It is interesting, I am a tradesman, where I work are four jobs left unfilled for several years, six figure jobs. two plumbing jobs, two electrical jobs. six figures in six months of work. It is in remote locations off of tge road systems. Very few applying for these jobs. The younger generation does not want to work

So my mom was laid off from her job that she had been at for 32 years, 3 years before she was due to retire. She tried finding work elsewhere for about.....4 months before she decided to simply retire early. She did so because finding a job was too difficult ....

If you got laid off, it is either because you didn't do the job as well as others, or you pissed off your boss one to many times (which might be either one of you). I survived 6 layoffs in my professional career. nothing new under the sun
