Grace was something special. It was creative, artistically and story-wise, the music was beautiful, the gameplay was fun and unique. It was truly a passion project. As much as I’m looking forward to trying out all the remakes, none of it will feel the same in my opinion. It’ll feel great and new, and probably a little nostalgic, but deep down to me it will never actually be the same. As bad of a person as Simon turned out to be, Grace was his vision, and I find myself mourning what more that vision had to offer. Unfortunately, now it’s lost forever. Whatever new thing will come out of remakes and reworks is just fan media that can’t truly align with whatever the devs had planned for the story and the game… but I suppose that’s not all that bad. Now the community will finish what he started, build anew and keep on paving a way forward. Thank you, Simon, but it’s our turn now.
